Dear Friends

PLEASE JOIN US FOR A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE IN THE UMBRIAN COUNTRYSIDE TO CELEBRATE OUR WEDDING ON JULY 7, 2027 AT RELAIS VILLA MONTE SOLARE.

La dolce vita

THREE MAGICAL DAYS
IN THE HEART OF ITALY

When we imagined gathering our favourite people to celebrate our wedding, we knew it had to be somewhere that invited lingering conversations, shared meals, and a sense of ease. We can't wait to gather in the Umbrian hills, and share this time with you in one of our favourite places in the world.

THREE DAYS OF LONG MEALS, GOLDEN LIGHT, AND THE PEOPLE WE LOVE MOST.

The Venue

RELAIS VILLA
MONTE SOLARE

An 18th-century estate in the Umbrian hills, reserved exclusively for our guests. Ancient olive groves, rolling vineyards, and sun-drenched views that dissolve into the horizon. A weekend of indulgence with our favourite people.

ARRIVAL DETAILS

Everything you need for the journey — transfers, directions, and hotel details.

The Venue

Relais Villa Monte Solare

AN 18TH CENTURY ARISTOCRATIC COUNTRY ESTATE, ENTIRELY OURS FOR THE CELEBRATION.

We wanted somewhere that could hold everyone we love, all in one place, for the whole celebration. Relais Villa Monte Solare is exactly that, a hotel set on an 80-hectare estate in the Umbrian hills among ancient olive groves and rolling vineyards, with the golden warmth of an Italian summer and room enough for all of us. Sprawling, sun-drenched, and entirely ours for three days.

Serve and Dip

THREE POOLS AND A TENNIS COURT
ACROSS THE ESTATE

Two outdoor pools set into the hillside, each looking out over vineyards and rolling green hills, and one indoors for a cooler, quieter escape. Plus a clay tennis court for anyone feeling competitive. Summer rays, an Aperol Spritz in hand, and nowhere else to be.

Relax and Unwind

A DAY SPA TO SINK INTO

A day spa tucked inside the ancient limonaia (the old lemon house) with an indoor heated pool looking out over the vineyards, a sauna and steam room, and treatment rooms where you can book massages to your heart's content.

27 SUITES ACROSS THE MAIN HOUSE, STONE COTTAGES, AND THE ANCIENT LIMONAIA

Your Stay

EVERYONE TOGETHER, ALL IN ONE PLACE

Rooms and suites spread across the main house, stone cottages, and the ancient limonaia, each one a little different, all of them ours for the three days. Terracotta floors, antique furniture, beamed ceilings. The kind of place that feels like home by the first evening.

The Schedule

As the Days Unfold

THREE DAYS, EACH WITH ITS OWN VIBE. ALL OF YOU TO SHARE IT WITH.

We only do this once, and we want every moment of it to be a joy. Three days shared with the people we love most. Each day has a feeling of its own, from long, slow mornings to dancing late into the night, with time in between to simply enjoy being together.

Day One

ARRIVAL &
WELCOME DINNER

Arrive at your own pace and settle in. That evening we gather on the terrace as the sun goes down over the Umbrian countryside, for a relaxed first night dining with local wine, and everyone finally in one place.

Day Two

THE WEDDING

The day we say I do, surrounded by everyone we love. The ceremony begins at 4pm, the start of a golden evening over the hills, a glass in hand, and a long night of dinner, music, and dancing under the Umbrian stars. Warm days cool into mild, comfortable evenings in this region.

GOOD FOOD, GOOD WINE, AND THE PEOPLE WHO MATTER MOST

Day Three

THE PARTY MOVES TO THE POOL

La Dolce Far Niente. Nowhere to be and nothing to do but enjoy it. Enjoy a slow morning, and by the afternoon the pool calls, because the celebration isn't quite over. Aperol spritzes, warm sun, and good food. One last day in no hurry to end.

Thursday 8th, July
Dress: Resortwear & Swimwear.

Day Four

THANK YOU and DEPARTURES

As the weekend draws to a close, we hope you leave with full hearts, good memories, and a little of Umbria still with you. And for those of you joining us onwards, the celebration isn't over just yet.

Experiences

Beyond the Villa

A FEW WAYS TO SPEND YOUR DAYS WITH US, BEYOND THE WEDDING ITSELF.

The estate offers a range of small experiences to suit every mood and pace; a morning truffle hunt with the estate's dogs, an afternoon at the spa, a glass of wine in the shade. Full details and costs will be added to the RSVP page closer to the time, where you'll be able to register your interest. Keep an eye out.

Olive Oil Tasting

OLIVE OIL, STRAIGHT FROM THE ESTATE

The estate's own olive groves produce the oil used in the kitchen, and a guided tasting walks you through the harvest, the pressing, and the different grades you'll taste on the table all week. A quiet, unhurried hour, best done slowly.

Wine Tasting

A TASTE OF THE VINEYARDS AROUND YOU

A guided tasting through wines grown right here in Umbria, led by someone who knows the region well. A chance to sit, sip, and learn a little about the hills surrounding you.

NO ITINERARY TO FOLLOW.
JUST A FEW WAYS TO FILL THE DAYS.

Truffle Hunting

OUT INTO THE HILLS WITH THE ESTATE'S DOGS

Head out with the estate's dogs and a local guide to hunt for truffles in the surrounding woods. An hour or two outdoors, ending with a taste of whatever is found.

Tennis

A FRIENDLY GAME ON THE COURT

The estate's tennis court is on hand for anyone who wants a game. Racquets available on request, no skill level required.

Day Spa

A QUIET CORNER TO UNWIND

The spa sits inside the villa's ancient limonaia, with an indoor heated pool, sauna, steam room, and treatment rooms offering a full range of massages and therapies. Book in for as much or as little as you like.

Travel & Stay

Making Your Way

FROM AUSTRALIA TO THE HEART OF ITALY, AND ALL THAT LIES BETWEEN.

There's a little distance between us and the Umbrian hills, but everything you need to make the journey easy is here, from where to land to where you'll sleep. And if you'd like to begin in Rome, we'll be there for a few days before the wedding and would love to see you. However you choose to get to us, we can't wait to have you in Italy.

Flying in

WHERE WE'D RECOMMEND LANDING

Fly into either Rome (FCO) or Florence (FLR). Both work equally well: each is around 2 - 2.5 hours to the villa, whether you drive or take the train. Which you choose really comes down to your route from Australia and what else you'd like to see along the way.

We might nudge you towards Rome, because we'll be there for 3 days prior to the wedding, and we'd love to enjoy a bit of time with you in the Eternal City. See below for details.

Getting to the Villa

A FEW WAYS TO REACH THE VENUE

By car — hire a car for the freedom to come and go. Around 2 hours drive from either Rome or Florence, through the Umbrian countryside.

By train — to Perugia or Chiusi–Chianciano Terme, both roughly a 2.5-hour journey. From either station it's about a 20-minute taxi to the villa.

By shuttle — If you'd rather not drive or take the train, we're looking into a group shuttle from Rome. Register your interest in your RSVP and we'll come back to you with costs so you can decide.

Your Stay

ACCOMMODATION DETAILS

$300 per room, per night.

Every room at the villa is $300AUD per night ($150 per person, per night for a couple sharing). Many rooms also have additional single beds or double sofa beds, so if you'd like to share with friends or family to reduce costs, just reach out and let us know, and we'll try to organise a family-style room for you.

WHERE & WHEN

CHECK-IN — Tuesday 6 July, 2pm
CHECK-OUT — Friday 9 July, 11am

PASSPORTS AND VISA'S

Please make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates — this is a standard requirement for travel.

Australian citizens do not need a visa for tourist, business, or family visits to Italy if they intend to stay for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

Before the Wedding

A FEW DAYS IN THE ROME BEFORE WE CELEBRATE

Rome is one of our favourite cities in the world, and we'll be there for three days before the wedding. There's no plan to follow and nothing to RSVP for, just a few easy days in a city we love. If you'd like to come a little earlier and spend some time in the Eternal City, we'd love nothing more than to share it with you. However you fill your days, we hope to see you there.

Finer Details

How do we book our room?

You don't need to. We've arranged all the accommodation at the villa, so there's nothing for you to book. Your room will be organised from the moment you arrive.

All we ask is that you settle the cost with us directly, at some point before the wedding. Rooms are $300 per night, working out to $150AUD per person, per night, for a couple sharing a room. Make payment to us whenever suits, by whichever means you prefer.

Some rooms take up to four with a sofa bed or additional single beds, so if you're travelling as a family or a group and want to share with others to bring the cost down, just let us know and we'll sort it.

What will the weather be like?

Gloriously warm. Expect hot, sunny days, usually in the low-to-mid thirties, cooling into mild, comfortable evenings. Pack for summer: You'll spend a fair bit of time outdoors and by the pool, so plan for sunshine.

Are you registered for gifts?

Your presence is the present. Having you with us in Italy is everything we could ask for.

Is there anything we should bring?

A few things worth knowing: the villa sits in the countryside, and there are no shops within walking distance. You won't be able to duck out for anything you've forgotten, so bring everything you'll need with you, including toiletries, medication, and anything for babies or children such as formula and nappies.

Which train station is closest?

The two nearest mainline stations are Perugia and Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, each around 25 mins from the villa by car. For the full picture on getting here, including trains, flights, and transfers, see Travel & Stay.

What's the dress code for the wedding?

Formal garden party. Full colour, elevated and joyful. We respectfully request that no one wear black or white. We've put together a Pinterest board if you'd like a feel for the mood we're going for.
